Tamarack Quilted Jacket Workshop

The Tamarack Jacket by Grainline Studios is such a creative and versatile make. You’ll learn so many new skills and techniques, such as creating perfect welt pockets, quilting, and making bias binding. We encourage you to check out #tamarackjacket on Instagram for inspiration!  
This is an advanced class with some homework in between sessions.There will be 2 weeks between the first and second class, which gives you the opportunity to spend some time piecing your jacket pieces if you wish.

Week 1 (2 hrs) Discuss options for piecing; choose fabrics; determine size; make pattern adjustments if needed.
Week 1 homework: Wash fabric; piece fabric if desired. Cut out main fabric, lining, and batting.
Week 2 (2.5 hrs) Make darts, sandwich all pieces and hand baste; begin quilting.
Week 2 homework: Finish quilting all pieces.
Week 3: (2.5 hrs) Make welt pockets; cut binding.
Week 3 homework: Finish pockets and binding.
Week 4: (2.5 hrs) Press and attach binding; begin assembly.
Week 5: (2.5hrs) Finish binding and assembling jacket. Attach snaps or hooks/eyes.

Covid-19 safety policies for classes:
-We strongly prefer all participants to be vaccinated against Covid 19 and influenza but do not require proof.
-Everyone must wear a face mask over mouth and nose. 
-Everyone must sanitize upon entering the space.

You will have the choice of pattern sizes 0-18 [chest measurement 32-44”] OR 14-30 [chest measurement 40-56”]
